I dreamt again that I moved back to my college town in Ohio and one of my dear friends from college, who was actually in high school at the time, but she would come hang out with us in college was there as well. She moved back from Chicago and I was driving her to her mom‘s condo and when we got to the condo, there was a big courtyard and her mom was doing all kinds of things. She had this little brother who was like playing in a kitty pool and the courtyard was kind of a a big oval shape with a stone benches surrounding it, and there was a big tree and she was working on pruning the tree with Chainsaw and I introduced myself to her. She wouldn’t make eye contact with me and she was kind of making snide remarks and I was continuing to try to be positive and friendly. I was explaining how we met each other and she was you know like oh but Arielle was only in high school. How did you meet and that’s when I realize, though I don’t wanna get her in trouble But we were so much older now you know we’re in our 30s that shouldn’t be a big deal anymore and she was like taking Ariel‘s temperature and like doing all these procedures on her and they were arguing and then a lot of people came over and I was like talking to them standing under the tree and then I would hear the chainsaw and like look up and the branch was falling down, so I would try to run out of the way and it seemed like no matter where I was standing she was like cutting a branch that was right above meand I couldn’t seem to evade this tree and I ended up not getting hurt but it was it was really strange
This dream is rich in symbolism and seems to revolve around themes of nostalgia, unresolved emotions, and personal growth. Let's break it down:
Returning to College Town: Moving back to your college town suggests a longing for the past or a desire to reconnect with a period in your life when you were perhaps more carefree or felt a strong sense of community. It could also reflect a desire to reprioritize some values or friendships you had during that time.
Reconnection with an Old Friend: The presence of your friend, Arielle, from your college days, indicates a need for emotional reconnection with people from your past. Arielle moving from Chicago might symbolize returning to roots or past relationships that hold emotional significance.
Arielle's Mother and Her Behavior: Arielle's mother's snide remarks and reluctance to engage eye contact may symbolize feelings of judgment or misunderstanding you're experiencing in your waking life. You felt the need to assert positivity and friendliness, which signifies your desire to have harmony and acceptance.
High School and Age Concern: The dialogue about Arielle being in high school emphasizes the difference in developmental or life stages. Your reassurance that it isn’t a big deal "now that you're in your 30s" hints at your evolving perspectives and perhaps confronting past anxieties or discrepancies in a mature light.
Chainsaw and Pruning the Tree: The chainsaw and pruning process suggests cutting away old growth to allow for new growth. It could symbolize cutting ties with old habits, limiting beliefs, or past regrets to make way for personal growth. However, the fear of the branches falling on you might reflect apprehensions about changes or making these cuts.
Arielle's Mother Taking Her Temperature: This could symbolize a form of control or care, indicating that you might feel watched or judged in some aspects of your life. The procedures could signify ongoing tensions or the need for personal healing and understanding.
Inability to Evade Falling Branches: Despite the potential danger, you weren't hurt in the dream. This could mean that, even though life changes and judgments feel overwhelming, you are resilient and emerge unscathed. There may be subconscious concerns about being in the wrong place at the wrong time, but ultimately, the outcome shows empowerment.
Concluding Thoughts: This dream collectively reflects introspection towards past connections and highlights the balance between nostalgia and personal growth. The challenge of navigating new branches of your life path amidst the remnants of old ties and judgments is evident.
In summary, your dream suggests a need to understand and reconcile past relationships and personal growth, while also confronting and overcoming fears about judgments or changes. It’s a call to embrace maturity, self-assurance, and resilience amid life's evolving challenges.
